The care we need to meet the moment
Held by priestess, writer, and educator Jojo Donovan (they/them), Seven Stones helps people who are struggling to overcome the stuckness, despair, and self-doubt that come with caring about a world in crisis.
Whatever challenges you’re facing—and so often there are lots of them—I work to help you find the clarity you’re looking for, claim your particular brilliance, and bring your vision for a liberated future to life in your body and your relationships.
My approach is inspired by the Seven of Stones (or Pentacles) in the Tarot: a card for tending patiently to new life as it emerges, and for mending the ruptures that happen along the way.
With the support of intuitive insights from your guides, I speak directly to the wise and loving self underneath your cultural conditioning and collaborate to clear the blocks between you and your most vibrant life.

The Seven of Stones reminds us that the nourishment we need will change with the seasons.
It encourages us to be clear about our current stage of growth as well as the forces at play in our environment. The seed needs different supports than the sapling, and the care we’re after looks different on balmy days than during moments of struggle.
Tending to life—and to our own lives especially—is a skill and a practice that calls for curiosity, compassionate care, and close attention to context, rhythms, cycles, and patterns.
I believe that ritual and ceremony are vital technologies for remembering our own aliveness, reclaiming our agency, and bringing ourselves into resonance with the futures we are calling forth. I trust in daily practice and the small choices that add up to an intentional life.
And while I’m a recovering recluse with a love of solitude and a good deal of social anxiety, I trust most of all in care, connection, and the choice to reach for each other.
My spiritual practice draws on a number of lineages, including Tarot, Reiki, pre-Christian Celtic and Germanic paganism, and a few recovered strands of Catholic folk magic. I owe much of my current understanding of my practice to the guidance and care of Richael Faithful, a healing artist in the Black conjure tradition of the US. I’m in a perpetual practice of divination—I pull cards, play at bibliomancy with old journals and poetry books, scry on the moss at Forest Park, and go on nightly journeys from my basement bedroom.
I’m drawn to connect with and support those who are working to undo the patterns and imprints of whiteness and white supremacy; to face with what has been left unresolved in our history and in ourselves; and to call on the agreeable ancestors, guides, and spirits in our lineages who are ready to try something new.
Outside of Seven Stones, I work as a facilitator, community organizer, writer, and caregiver. You can follow my work on instagram @sevenstonestarot.
